BookWoman is Austin's feminist bookstore. The store began in Austin 34 years ago on Guadalupe. Today the store is located on North Lamar and continues to offer women-created titles, gifts, book groups, and workshops. The BookWoman website introduces new books and provides an up-to-date calendar of events. You can support locally-owned BookWoman by going there to find the books, gifts, and community you seek.
Genuine Joe is your Austin neighborhood coffeehouse. Genuine Joe offers a rich selection of beverages, including coffee, assorted teas, and fruity smoothies. Sandwiches and light fare grace their menu. The coffeehouse hosts regular music events and artist's markets on Mondays and Saturdays. Community members will also find meeting rooms available to rent for workshops or classes at this local venue.
A collective of healers and practitioners create this local center. Mindful Body Center practitioners offer guidance and instruction in Pilates and Stretching, as well as Massage Therapy. The community has their choice of classes or one-on-one consultations. If you are seeking to take your Pilates practice to the next level, the center also offers Pilates Certification opportunities. Mindful Body Center is a space to pause and be mindful in a supportive environment.
Soma Vida is a local work/life balance center based in Austin, Texas. This woman-created and owned space provides an array of services at one location. Soma Vida practitioners facilitate yoga, somatic psychotherapy, massage therapy, business coaching, and more. A meeting room and co-working space are also available for business and/or community ventures. Soma Vida invites Austin to live well, work well, play well.
A blossoming studio, Sundara celebrates holistic health through services and community events. The woman-owned studio offes yoga classes, massage therapy, yoga therapy, and more in an soothing, intimate setting. Yoga classes and yoga therapy are available as private sessions, inviting individuals to experience deeper levels of healing with one-on-one support. Friday evenings, Sundara features The Art of Healing sessions, where local practitioners facilitate workshops about various healing modalities. |
